DJ Al Brady

Al Brady is a seasoned veteran of radio for over four decades. He was also part of the nightly entertainment at Little Darlin’s Rock n’ Roll Palace (which later became Wolfman Jack’s), a world renowned night spot that featured The Living Legends of Rock & Roll such as Fabian, Del Shannon, Freddie Cannon – among many others. He was also the MC and host of a radio/tv show with Hall of Fame DJ, Wolfman Jack, working with many artists of the rock & roll era. Al was host of “LIVE at The Rock N Roll Palace” on three Orlando radio stations, while the TV show aired weekly on The Nashville Network.

Recruited by co-founder and co-owner, Mr. Dick Milano, Al entertained the nightly audience along with two of the greatest house bands, “on the planet”, Rocky and the Rollers and Rockin’ Robin’s Rhythm Kings. Those living legends loved working with these two great bands due to their reliability and professionalism.

Al Brady (born Allan Baldwin) was raised on Staten Island, NY, where he was greatly influenced by many of the city’s radio stations and DJ’s becoming very knowledgeable of the music, artists and their history. His radio career started at local “pirate” station WISI-108 FM, in the Staten Island area, where he adopted the radio name “Al Brady” in order to operate more covertly on pirate radio.

Then as an intern in NYC he received his first “on-air” radio gig, in New Jersey in 1979, actually working mornings at 100FM WJRZ, and afternoon drive at WVRM-FM, 60 miles away. In the 80’s and 90’s he has worked in the Ocala to Orlando markets working at several “oldies” and “adult contemporary” stations.

As the original host of the Saturday Nite Cruise in Old Town, an internationally renowned weekly car cruise featuring hundreds of vintage and classics, still enjoyed today – he also hosted all of the original Old Town AutoFests.

While in the Mid-Atlantic region, his radio show received a whopping 22.5% share in the Neilsen Ratings during his tenure at the former WTRG Oldies 100.7 FM in Raleigh, NC. His knowledge and love of music is deeply expressed when hosting PBS Television specials, with numerous appearances during the fundraising festivals of UNC-TV airing shows like “Doo Wop 50” , “Doo Wop 51”, “Rock & Roll at 50”, and “Rock, Rhythm & Doo Wop”, amongst other musical shows, for the state-wide PBS Television in the Mid-Atlantic States including North Carolina, for nearly 15 years.
